5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent value for this price range! Hassle free customer service!, August 26, 2014

This review is from: Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike with MyCloudFitness App (Sports)
I was looking for a comfortable, daily driver and this fits the bill and then some. The bike is easy to assemble, sturdy and super quiet at all speeds. The seat is extremely comfortable and I feel like I could sit on this like it's a piece of furniture for long periods of time. The pedal action is smooth and effortless. The resistance can be changed on the fly with a simple touch of a button and provides some serious aerobic effort if that's your flavor. The only thing I have experienced so far is the the seat slightly wobbles from side to side at speeds greater than 12mph. The computer on this thing tracks everything and can be viewed either on the built in display or you can connect via bluetooth to a whole litany of apps through your phpne or tablet. If you use an app that has google maps, you can even watch the street level view of the area you're riding through as if you were really there. The apps are mostly free. For an in home recumbent bike under $400 with this... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Exerpeutic 4000 vs Exerpeutic 900XL, August 3, 2014
Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Exerpeutic 4000 Magnetic Recumbent Bike with MyCloudFitness App (Sports)
I purchased and use the Exerpeutic 4000. Shoppers in various forums have asked what's the difference between the model 4000 ($379) and Exerpeutic's model 900XL ($169) besides the price? Aren't they about the same? No...other than both being Exerpeutic branded they are remarkably different.

Open the attached side-by-side comparison photo and you will see many of the differences I mention: Darn it! This site is not allowing me to upload the photo, sorry. Open each model in a separate browser window and do your side-by-side view that way.

Size: The 4000 is a larger bike: 30 x 41 x 58 inches ; 71 pounds 325 lb weight capacity, compared to the 900XL 22 by 34 by 54 inches 63 lbs 300 lb weight capacity. Sitting in the 4000 feels stable, safe, and formidable, not to mention totally comfortable.

Tension (resistance) System: The 4000 has 24 levels and is adjusted by the user via tapping the computer console. The 900XL has only 8 levels and you need to reach... Read more

If I could, I would give this several rankings. Five stars as a recumbent exercise bike for the reasons stated below. Right between two and three stars for ease of assembly and zero stars for the manual.

I am very pleased with recumbent exercise bike now that it is all together and working. But it took me five or six hours to get to this point because of the totally execrable manual.

The bad stuff first: the manual is beyond awful. Paradigm Health & Wellness, Inc. should invest the relatively little it would take to hire a native English-speaking technical writer and competent technical illustrator to produce a first-rate manual. Little things count. For instance, when telling me not to screw in the pedals with a clockwise-motion, tell me the orientation of the pedal! There is essentially a front and a back. Yes, it is simple enough to figure out which end is up, but things would go faster and more smoothly with a decent illustration. Likewise, when telling me... Read more
